Remix assignment
This was a bit confusing to me, especially since it was my first time. but in my remix you can see i used the loop a lot because it was easy to just replay the same beat. I used different instruments because I wanted to see how each and every one is different. I used dub-stepper, Upright piano, old school (drums), and 80s pad (piano). I made changes in different places because i wanted to makes beats in different spots rather then one.

LOOP Composition
I had more better fun and understanding on this assignment since we got to choose the beats we want and out them where we like. I choose two loops that sounded good together and put them right near each other, I did the same for the rest of them. I thought that having two loops together would make the beat sound better. I used different loops for every single one but I separated them in a way that they weren't going to be all bunch up.

Group Composition

In this group project we work with loops and we both pick loop we like and put them in a way that it would flow and made a good beat. We used more then 5 loops and we both like a lot of the beats they had but we did used other like the piano. We separated the loops so they can sound good instead of all bunch up.
SOUND TRAP reflection
Good music vs. bad music
Is there really bad music or good music out there? I know the music I personally like I consider it good music but what do I consider bad music? the music I don't like? This topic all depends on you personally, your thought and feelings when hearing music. I can like a song so much that I think it is really good but to someone else it might be trash. So to say that there is good or bad music out there is very hard. In other cases, it is not all about how does the sing make someone feel but rather on how its played. What I mean is that if you take church music and rap music, rap would be consider bad. Rap music contains bad language and violence where church music is holly and good for you. What about the people who like rap music? they would consider it good but religious people would consider it bad. You see it all depends who is looking at the music a certain way because everyone has their different taste and opinions on what good music or bad music is.

Analyze my work
Out of the three projects that I have done I would say that the Loop Composition was my best one and i really enjoyed doing that one. I would rate it a 3 because when I did it looping was new to me so I know if I had more experienced I would of did a great job. I do give myself a 3 because I actually tired and put in effort rather then doing random stuff. I like the loop because it has the loops already there for you so you just look and listen through the ones they have already and combined them with others. I like combining two together to get a more awesome beat and then picking another two that would flow right after the first two were done. I got a perfect score on this assignment so I believe I did very well on this project.
Identifying structure
|
Structured composition
In this song that I created i used a very simple structure where it contain only 4 parts. So I started off with a verse then the chorus back to another verse then to the same chorus so it was a 4 part structure. Basically like Verse> Chorus> Verse> Chorus. I kept it shorts and simple and each measure was about 8 measures long. I choose a main beat to play in the background throughout the whole 32 measures. Then the first verse was 1-8 measures then from 9-16 measures was chorus. My second verse was very much a like to my first verse but just a slight change, if you noticed its a clapping sound added, but it measured from 17-24. Lastly from measured 25-32 was my chorus which was exactly the same as the first since it is a chorus. Overall i kept it plain and simple, something fast and easy to get done but I did like my beats i choose and the loops i choose.

Final composition
Song Structure: Intro> verse> Chorus> Bridge> Verse> Chorus> Outro.
I started off my composition with a happy sounding. I was trying to focus on a type of chill lay back song that you can listen to. My first structure was my intro which is 1-10. You can hear the rhythm is a slow paste then the rest. The tempo of this song was changed to 140 faster then what it was originally. But each section got its own rhythm as you can hear when a new structure is played. My second structure is the verse which is from measure 10-19. here i changed the dynamics a bit. I made it fade out when the structure comes to its ending, right before measure 20 is played. Measures 20-30 is my chorus, my chorus and my verses and they same as they are brought up twice in the song but you can noticed both verse and chorus got a slight change in them. Between the first verse and chorus i put a bridge. The bridge is measure 31-40 then my second verse, measure 41-53, is played and the followed by the chorus, measure 54-64. Lastly was my outro, measure 65-72, were I change the dynamics too. I changed it because wanted to have that fade type of song as to where the song came to an end.
